Role Overview
Smarsh is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow the Cortex team at the Bangalore office. This hybrid position requires working on-site three days per week and offers a chance to drive cutting-edge artificial intelligence initiatives. The role suits a hands-on technical leader ready to guide machine learning and delivery engineers while shaping the future of enterprise AI capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a skilled group of machine learning and delivery engineers within the Cortex team. Drive the technical delivery of AI service initiatives and help establish the strategic direction of the artificial intelligence platform. Serve as the primary engineering leader on the ground in Bangalore while reporting directly to a Senior ML Engineering Manager located in the UK. Champion and actively use AI-powered engineering productivity tools such as Windsurf and Claude Code, embedding these modern practices into the team's daily routines. Collaborate closely with the Applied Machine Learning team responsible for building and training in-house models, Product Management, Technical Program Management, the Fabric platform organization, and sister Cognition teams within the Enterprise Conduct organization.
