Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with technical teams and product managers to discover patentable innovations and decide between trade secrets and formal filings.
Write thorough patent disclosures and applications by turning sophisticated technical concepts into defensible legal descriptions.
Oversee international patent prosecution activities, collaborating with external counsel to maintain high standards of filing quality.
Build and update internal tracking tools, documentation systems, and workflow dashboards for deadlines and portfolio metrics.
Assist with corporate merger and acquisition evaluations by analyzing target intellectual property assets and freedom-to-operate risks.
Run and improve the recognition framework for inventors, which incorporates awards, bonuses, and internal visibility.
Coordinate intellectual property tactics with open-source goals while suggesting involvement in defensive patent alliances.

Requirements

Demonstrated background in drafting software and artificial intelligence patents with strong knowledge of eligibility guidelines in the United States and Europe.
Practical familiarity with generative models and large language models, including the capability to interpret model training methods and architectures.
Background in overseeing and optimizing external legal firms for efficient and cost-effective patent prosecution.
Capability to communicate clearly with engineers, extract vital details, and teach legal principles to non-legal personnel.
Resourceful and independent working style focused on anticipating organizational needs and tracking operational workflows.
Commercial awareness regarding how intellectual property drives scale-up value, alongside knowledge of open-source licenses.
Complete fluency in written and spoken English for technical and legal documentation tasks.
