About this role

Role Overview

May Mobility is looking for a Lead ML Engineer to focus on Lane and Route Network Mapping for a remote position within the USA. This role suits an experienced machine learning professional ready to architect advanced spatial intelligence systems for autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the research, design, architecture, training, and validation of neural networks for vectorized mapping, multi-camera BEV transformers, and multimodal fusion models.
Build a production-grade lane and route network mapping stack with high-performance integration across upstream and downstream modules like Perception and Behavior.
Own the end-to-end data strategy for lane and route networks, defining data curation, auto-labeling, synthetic data, and active learning pipelines.
Develop robust evaluation frameworks for lane and route network accuracy, temporal consistency, and scaling across different Operational Design Domains.
Collaborate independently with cross-functional teams to translate complex autonomy goals into clear software requirements and ensure seamless fleet deployment.
Stay at the research frontier by evaluating and adapting online vectorized HD map construction and vision foundation models.

Requirements

Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
Seven or more years of industry experience developing and deploying machine learning or deep learning models for mapping or computer vision at scale.
Deep expertise in vectorized mapping networks, BEV-based scene representations, cross-modal calibration, and transformers or GNNs applied to structured lane geometry.
Strong understanding of HD maps, lane-level topology, intersection modeling, and object detection or 3D reconstruction.
Proficiency in PyTorch or TensorFlow for distributed training, synthetic data generation, and large-scale dataset handling.
Strong programming skills in Python and C++ with experience in modular software design and Linux environments.

Nice to Have

Ten or more years of experience in ML or DL for autonomous driving or advanced driver assistance systems.
Experience with self-supervised or semi-supervised learning for large-scale representation learning.
Familiarity with Vision-Language Models and Foundation Models for auto-labeling and edge-case detection.
Expertise in machine learning optimization for real-time products with limited compute resources, such as model quantization or pruning.
A publication record or inventions at top-tier conferences including CVPR, NeurIPS, ICCV, ECCV, or ICLR.
