Role Overview

bjakcareer seeks a Lead Engineer for an AI payments app context to manage technical execution and elevate engineering standards. This position requires someone comfortable moving between architectural planning and practical implementation. The individual will drive major initiatives from concept to production while guiding other team members.

Key Responsibilities

Take charge of technical design and execution for significant products, features, and engineering initiatives.
Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems covering backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
Maintain hands-on involvement through coding, prototyping, debugging, code reviews, and production problem-solving.
Make architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Translate ambiguous technical problems into clear execution plans and solutions.
Establish high standards for code quality, testing, security, observability, and production reliability.
Review technical designs and code from peers, offering actionable feedback.
Mentor colleagues to enhance the technical capability of the entire team.
Spot technical risks and bottlenecks early, while collaborating with product, design, and AI teams.
Oversee systems post-release by monitoring production, investigating incidents, and improving reliability.

Requirements

Solid software engineering background with extensive experience building and launching production systems.
Deep expertise in areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
Proven ability in system design, architecture, and making technical decisions for complex systems.
Strong coding proficiency and willingness to stay hands-on.
Demonstrated experience leading major engineering projects or offering technical leadership.
Capability to review code, debug intricate issues, and manage production systems directly.
Strong communication skills in English to explain technical choices clearly.
Product sense that connects technical decisions to business outcomes.
