Role Overview

The Lead Engineer takes technical ownership of complex systems and drives major initiatives from concept to production. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring architecture design, code review, and active problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical design and execution for major features, products, and engineering initiatives.
Design scalable and reliable systems covering backend, frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
Write code, build prototypes, conduct code reviews, and debug production issues.
Make architectural decisions balancing speed, scalability, and maintainability.
Translate ambiguous technical problems into clear execution plans.
Set high standards for code quality, security, testing, and system observability.
Mentor other engineers and provide actionable feedback on technical designs and code.
Identify bottlenecks, technical risks, and architectural weaknesses early.
Collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, and AI teams.
Improve internal tooling, automation, and development practices.
Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, and resolve root causes.

Requirements

Strong software engineering background with a record of shipping production systems.
Deep technical expertise in areas such as backend, frontend, distributed systems, APIs, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
Strong system design skills for complex or high-scale systems.
Proven ability to remain hands-on through coding and debugging.
Experience leading major engineering projects and providing technical guidance to peers.
Strong product sense linking technical choices to business outcomes.
Ability to operate quickly amid ambiguity with high personal ownership.
Strong English communication skills for a global working environment.
