About this role

Sales professionals who thrive in dynamic, high-growth environments and excel at managing complex, multi-threaded sales cycles will find a strong fit in this position. Databricks is expanding its Go-To-Market team in Melbourne to drive the adoption of Lakebase, a fully managed Postgres offering designed for intelligent applications. This team works closely with regional account executives to help customers transition from fragmented legacy databases to a unified operational data foundation.

Team members focus on identifying revenue opportunities, leading outcome-driven conversations with platform and development teams, and orchestrating proof-of-value demonstrations. Success requires balancing strategic account engagement with field enablement, acting as a force multiplier across the business. Candidates who possess a blend of technical fluency in database architectures and strong business ownership will do well here.

What you will do

  • Drive new Lakebase revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities within a defined territory alongside regional Account Executives.
  • Articulate the value of fully-managed Postgres for intelligent applications to platform teams, developers, data teams, and central IT.
  • Run complex, multi-threaded sales cycles from initial discovery through commercial negotiation and deal closure.
  • Orchestrate proof-of-value and POCs validating Lakebase benefits for OLTP workloads, reverse ETL, and AI-driven applications.
  • Compete against legacy and cloud-native operational databases using compete assets, benchmarks, and customer references.
  • Partner cross-functional with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partner teams to shape territory plans and co-selling motions.

What you need

  • Bring seven or more years of enterprise SaaS sales experience with a track record of consistently exceeding quota in complex deals.
  • Demonstrate proven success selling data platforms, operational databases, or adjacent data and AI infrastructure.
  • Possess a strong understanding of modern data and application architectures including cloud-native services and microservices.
  • Showcase the ability to sell to both technical stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Exhibit executive presence with the capacity to whiteboard architectures and lead C-level conversations.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling Postgres, operational databases, OLTP workloads, or transactional cloud database services.
  • Familiarity with data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Understanding of reverse ETL, real-time decisioning, and operational analytics use cases.
  • Exposure to AI-native and agent-driven applications depending on low-latency operational data services.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth, category-creating environment helping shape new plays and messaging.
