Ownership of relationships and market intelligence across hyperscalers and strategic neoclouds falls directly to the person in this role. The work blends technical evaluation from GPUs to data centers with commercial negotiation of pricing, capacity commitments, and terms. Market conditions require maintaining a close pulse on compute pricing and supplier dynamics to ensure the company can secure capacity rapidly when needed.
Mentorship of one to two junior or mid-level teammates is also expected from this senior hire. Ideal candidates bring a combination of technical infrastructure fluency, market instinct for compute pricing, and commercial judgment.
What you will do
- Cultivate and maintain multi-level relationships across hyperscalers and strategic neoclouds.
- Keep Baseten top-of-mind with key accounts to secure capacity rapidly when demand arises.
- Evaluate infrastructure capabilities from hardware generations to cooling and power density.
- Monitor daily compute pricing across GPU generations, regions, and contract terms.
- Collaborate with the Deals team to negotiate capacity commitments, SLAs, and payment terms.
- Form and defend strategic viewpoints on market trends, supply shifts, and platform transitions.
- Mentor and pair with junior to mid-level team members covering the same domain.
What you need
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships without relying on a traditional enterprise sales approach.
- Technical fluency regarding GPUs, server racks, and data center infrastructure.
- Strong market instinct for analyzing compute pricing and anticipating rate movements.
- Commercial judgment regarding unit economics, contract structures, and supplier offerings.
- Proven experience sustaining multi-level connections inside complex organizations.
- Sound judgment regarding when to escalate account relationships to senior leadership.
Nice to have
- Existing relationships within hyperscalers or major neocloud providers, including NVIDIA cloud partners
- NVIDIA or OEM allocation relationships including direct management of allocation, forecasting, or partner standing
- Comfort traveling to evaluate sites and infrastructure in person
- Experience in a compute, GPU marketplace, or infrastructure-adjacent relationship or business development role
