Role Overview

Baseten is seeking a Head of Environment to shape the physical footprint and workspace experience as the organization scales from roughly 300 team members to over 2,000. This position combines strategic real estate planning, interior design, operations, and hospitality. Working closely with company founders and senior leaders, this role takes ownership of global offices, cultural traditions, and day-to-day workplace execution while guiding an established team.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute the global real estate strategy, managing site selection, long-term roadmap development, expansions, and major capital investments for headquarters and regional offices.
Oversee end-to-end workplace operations, office builds, launches, and relocations with a strong focus on high standards and hospitality.
Establish the distinct look, personality, and physical expression of the brand across all office locations, amenities, and guest experiences.
Mentor, develop, and scale the Workplace Experience team to match the rapid growth of the broader organization.

Requirements

Bring ten or more years of leadership background in workplace operations, employee experience, or environment functions at a fast-growing technology firm.
Demonstrated capability in guiding an organization through rapid expansion across multiple domestic and international sites.
Ability to establish trust rapidly with founders and executive leadership while applying independent judgment.
Strong strategic and analytical skills for managing significant real estate investments and complex stakeholder environments.
Exceptional taste, rigorous attention to detail, and a hospitality-focused mindset.
Based in San Francisco with the ability to work in the office three or more days per week alongside regular travel to other sites.
