Role Overview

Evvy is seeking a Head of Engineering to join the team in New York City on a full-time basis. This position suits an experienced, hands-on technical leader who wants to direct the architecture and execution of a precision women's health platform. Operating primarily in person in New York City with a hybrid schedule, this role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and involves shaping the future of digital health infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Translate the company and product vision into a scalable technical roadmap spanning engineering, artificial intelligence, and data systems.
Define architecture and technical strategies that allow a lean team to operate rapidly without sacrificing reliability.
Identify and deploy modern AI-enabled development workflows and tooling to elevate execution speed and developer leverage.
Maintain a hands-on approach by reviewing architecture choices, writing implementation details, debugging, and solving technical problems.
Establish rigorous standards for code quality, security, system scalability, and AI-assisted workflows.
Partner directly with machine learning and research teams to bring novel algorithms and AI-powered systems into production.
Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering department while cultivating a culture of technical excellence and extreme ownership.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, clinical, operations, marketing, and growth groups to deliver impactful user experiences.
Oversee platform security, data privacy, and compliance processes associated with sensitive patient information.

Requirements

Bring ten or more years of overall engineering experience, including at least four years in engineering leadership positions.
Demonstrate past success leading engineering organizations through high-growth startup stages, such as Series B or beyond.
Show direct experience building and scaling consumer-facing platforms, internal systems, or data-intensive products.
Possess strong architectural instincts across modern web infrastructure and AI-enabled systems.
Display hands-on experience deploying modern artificial intelligence tooling throughout the software development lifecycle.
Have a proven background in hiring, mentoring, and managing engineers while keeping technical skills sharp.

Nice to Have

Background working in healthtech or other highly regulated industries.
Experience productionizing machine learning and artificial intelligence systems.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, security certifications, and privacy-sensitive infrastructure.
Experience supporting diagnostic, e-commerce, or patient-facing digital healthcare platforms.
