Role Overview

Maincode seeks a foundational leader to direct a dedicated data organization responsible for sourcing, processing, and refining training inputs for the Matilda artificial intelligence platform. The person in this position takes charge of the complete training data lifecycle, spanning web-scale crawling, licensing, filtering, deduplication, and quality assurance. Operating within a domestically controlled infrastructure environment, the leader shapes the operational standards for data governance and security while collaborating closely with the core training team.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and manage systems dedicated to web-scale data crawling, ingestion, and storage.
Build robust pipelines focused on cleaning, filtering, deduplication, and formatting to supply optimal inputs for model training.
Acquire proprietary datasets tailored to the Australian context through licensing and private partnerships.
Partner directly with the core training group to refine data mixtures, assess quality, and address model performance feedback.
Define operational standards concerning privacy, security, and governance across all managed datasets.

Requirements

Demonstrated background leading data engineering or machine learning data teams at scale.
Technical expertise in distributed data processing frameworks alongside petabyte-scale storage architectures.
Practical experience constructing pipelines for web scraping, data extraction, text processing, and quality filtering.
