About this role

This position suits an experienced cybersecurity leader who wants to directly impact global cyber resilience and crime disruption through high-autonomy work.

Role Overview

As Head of Cyber Missions, the professional will develop an independent perspective on consequential cyber problems, locate key decision-makers, and turn those opportunities into executable mission programs. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role helps found TRM's Mission Delivery organization. While the position is distributed-first, Washington, D.C. is strongly preferred due to the customer base, and the job involves roughly three to four weeks of travel per quarter.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate TRM's cyber mission perspective by identifying major cybercrime and resilience challenges and publishing thought leadership.
Source and qualify opportunities by building relationships with national cyber-resilience agencies, critical-infrastructure CISOs, and federal or state law enforcement.
Shape and scope complex mission programs, defining final scopes, delivery models, and operational credibility.
Build commercial structures across firm-fixed-price, time-and-materials, milestone, and performance-based models.
Launch new engagements by serving as interim leader to establish operating rhythms and KPIs before installing permanent operational leaders.
Scale the practice by turning engagements into repeatable pricing, scoping, and staffing models while recruiting critical talent.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of meaningful cyber experience with recognized expertise to decompose complex mission problems from first principles.
Demonstrated commercial ownership with a history of personally sourcing and scoping complex engagements of approximately $10M or more.
Proven track record of translating ambitious mission outcomes into actionable delivery plans covering staffing, data requirements, and KPIs.
Founder-like behavior with experience building companies, products, practices, programs, or teams against institutional complexity.
Fluency in both private and public sectors, including meaningful experience selling to or operating within the U.S. government, with federal contracting familiarity strongly preferred.
Technical fluency sufficient to understand TRM's technology and data, pressure-test solutions, and collaborate closely with engineering and AI teams.
Exceptional executive communication skills capable of building trust with operators, senior leaders, and policymakers.
Extremely low ego with a focus on influence without authority and a dedication to mission outcomes over personal credit.
AI fluency utilizing modern artificial intelligence tools for research, synthesis, prototyping, and proposal generation with strict quality control.
