Hardware Product Lead - AI Builder - Home Energy Products
About this role
This role addresses the challenge of maintaining a mature and profitable portfolio of home energy products while simultaneously driving innovation for new offerings like the Virtual Power Plant. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the health, competitiveness, and profitability of existing revenue-generating products, including EV chargers, monitors, and smart plugs. This involves making critical decisions regarding field quality, cost management, supply continuity, and the lifecycle management of these established products.
The Hardware Product Lead will act as the definitive decision-maker for product definition, development, and launch across this portfolio. While not executing all tasks, the role is accountable for the outcomes of every shipped change, from firmware updates to pricing adjustments. The core function is to leverage data and AI to prioritize fixes, feature development, and cost reductions, ensuring that engineering efforts are focused where they will yield the greatest impact on customer savings and company profitability.
This position is ideal for a self-directed individual who thrives in an environment where they can own complex product decisions end-to-end. Success in this role requires a blend of product management acumen, strong technical understanding of hardware, and the ability to use advanced tools like AI to analyze large datasets and accelerate decision-making.
