About this role

Role Overview

The GTM Engineer position at Baseten is a full-time remote role based out of New York, focusing on designing and scaling go-to-market workflows. This opportunity suits an experienced technical professional who wants to build and maintain the foundational connective tissue for a hyper-growth AI infrastructure company.

Key Responsibilities

Build and deploy AI-powered agents and automations that eliminate manual tasks and provide real leverage for sales representatives and managers.
Translate data from Salesforce, usage platforms, and data warehouses into actionable dashboards, scores, and alerts that the field actively utilizes.
Audit existing tool stacks independently, identify gaps or overlaps, and establish a prioritized backlog without needing a pre-determined roadmap.
Triage incoming requests from the field, rapidly prototype low-hanging fruit, and push rep-productivity workflows live on tight turnarounds.
Decide when to use low-code solutions versus building custom, bespoke AI applications using Claude Code.
Design and implement systems with a long-term view of architecture to prevent downstream technical debt.
Integrate third-party APIs to ensure seamless and reliable data flow across disparate daily operational tools.
Document all built solutions thoroughly so that they remain transparent, understandable, and trusted by team members.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in GTM Engineering, workflow automation, or technical RevOps roles within high-growth B2B AI companies.
Demonstrated ability to ship production-ready internal GTM applications and agents on Vercel with reliable, sandboxed execution.
Practical fluency with modern AI coding assistants and agent tooling like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
Hands-on operational experience using Clay as a primary workflow and data enrichment tool.
Direct working knowledge of the Salesforce data model, with a history of owning CRM-level changes.
Proven track record of independently owning end-to-end automation and artificial intelligence workflows.
Familiarity with integration platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or Workato, alongside a foundational grasp of webhooks and APIs.
Strong situational judgment to recognize when low-code tooling reaches its limit and custom code is necessary.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with broader data-provider and enrichment ecosystems outside of Clay.
Experience building alerts and reporting layers on data warehouses like BigQuery or Databricks, and BI layers like Sigma or Hex.
Background in building with agent platforms and frameworks, including Gumloop, Notion Agents, Vercel AI SDK, or Mastra.
Prior involvement in complex go-to-market motions and highly technical software sales cycles.
Natural instinct for tool stack consolidation and a strong systems-thinking mindset for building composable, maintainable solutions.
Comfort working through ambiguity, experimentation, and operational sprawl.
