The global infrastructure provider maintains critical data centers and corporate locations, requiring continuous oversight to safeguard personnel and assets. Working from the Livingston, New Jersey facility, the individual in this role acts as the central hub for monitoring physical security, life safety, and cyber-physical events across the organization.
Team members handle incoming security alerts, manage access and credential workflows, and coordinate immediate responses to incidents using specialized software platforms. The group operates on a 24/7/365 schedule to ensure uninterrupted site protection and system health. Candidates who possess a background in security operations centers, data center protection, or emergency dispatch will find a structured environment dedicated to infrastructure resilience.
What you will do
- Conduct proactive, continuous monitoring of Genetec Security Center, CCTV, access control, alarms, and life-safety systems.
- Assess alarms using video and site context, perform first-line troubleshooting, and route system issues to appropriate engineering or facilities teams.
- Process physical-access requests, verify identities, and manage credentials in accordance with established authorization procedures.
- Serve as the initial intake point for security incidents, assign severity levels, and initiate escalation workflows using Ontic and PagerDuty.
- Coordinate onsite incident responses, review CCTV footage, preserve evidence, and maintain accurate logs of all shift activities.
- Operate radio communications systems and distribute situational-awareness advisories to internal teams and external responders.
What you need
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a GSOC, PSOC, dispatch center, emergency operations center, or data center security role.
- Working knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, and emergency communications systems.
- Demonstrated experience with Genetec Security Center or a comparable physical security platform.
- Familiarity with incident management and collaboration tools such as Ontic, Jira, Slack, or Google Workspace.
- Ability to assess risk, prioritize competing events, and make timely decisions under pressure.
- Capacity to maintain sustained vigilance while managing multiple systems and communication channels simultaneously.
- Proven capability to communicate clearly while protecting sensitive and confidential information.
Nice to have
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or equivalent experience
- DHS Incident Command System training such as ICS-100 or ICS-200
- Genetec certification, ASIS PSP, CPP, or related security certifications
- Familiarity with PagerDuty, Everbridge, Wave PTX, HID Origo, ClearID, Alcatraz, or BioConnect
- Exposure to wireless intrusion detection systems and Bastille Wireless Airspace Cybersecurity Platform
