Role Overview

Fathom is seeking a product-minded Full Stack Engineer to build impactful, customer-facing features remotely. This full-time role is ideal for a pragmatic generalist who wants to shape foundational software services and create magical user experiences in a growing company.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver high-impact features across the web application, Electron desktop app, and Chrome extension.
Build and maintain highly-scalable services that handle spiky yet predictable workloads across multiple regions.
Collaborate closely with application engineers, AI teams, platform engineering, SRE, and customer support.
Execute multi-stage software deployments to ensure efficiency, correctness, and reliability of changes.
Contribute to search and chat experiences, third-party integrations, public APIs, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.

Requirements

Familiarity with the company tech stack or functional equivalents, including Ruby, Rails, Sidekiq, TypeScript, TSX, MySQL, Redis, Pusher, Electron, Google Cloud Platform, and GKE.
Professional background working within a SaaS or PaaS environment handling massive asynchronous workloads.
Strong curiosity, pragmatism, and a distinct focus on delivering tangible results.
Generalist mindset capable of diving deep into varied engineering challenges with high attention to detail.
Resilience and willingness to work through complex problems independently while managing personal workloads.
Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to clearly explain technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Openness to constructive disagreement combined with a strong commitment to final team decisions.
