Full Stack Developer
About this role
The team supports an established platform application while simultaneously standing up pilot solutions and custom minimum viable products for emerging requirements across defense, national security, and public safety organizations. Engineers in this role design and deliver complete applications spanning from the database schema to the API layer and the operational user interface. Responsibilities include extending Django-based API gateways, building React dashboards, writing PostgreSQL migration scripts, and configuring Keycloak authentication within classified environments.
Candidates need to move fluidly between backend logic and frontend polish while managing the security implications inherent in classified systems. The position requires self-directed individuals who take ownership of their code, communicate clearly, and maintain meticulous attention to detail regarding authentication flows and infrastructure policies. Familiarity with intelligence community environments is helpful, though intellectual curiosity and adaptability are the primary traits for success.
What you will do
- Design and deliver complete applications ranging from database schemas to API layers and user interfaces.
- Extend Django-based API gateways and build new React dashboards for operational workflows.
- Write migration scripts to transition legacy data into modern PostgreSQL schemas.
- Configure authentication services using Keycloak, OIDC, SAML, or CAC/PIV integration.
- Deploy applications across multiple AWS partitions and classification levels using Terraform.
- Utilize GitLab for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and daily development workflows.
- Incorporate AI-assisted development tooling as a standard practice in the daily routine.
What you need
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a full stack developer or equivalent background.
- Strong Python backend development skills using Django, FastAPI, or equivalent async frameworks in modern Python 3.12+.
- Production frontend development experience with React, Next.js, Vue.js, or equivalent frameworks.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design, backend-for-frontend patterns, schema validation, and PostgreSQL operations.
- Experience deploying and operating applications across AWS partitions, regions, and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
- Knowledge of secure application development for STIG-hardened, FIPS-validated environments and DevSecOps scan interpretation.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Nice to have
- Incorporating generative AI capabilities into applications like RAG pipelines or LLM integration
- Migrating legacy systems and data sources into modern cloud-native architectures
- Container orchestration with Kubernetes, EKS, and Helm
- Hardened container supply chains and FIPS-validated image pipelines
- NIST 800-53 security controls and practical application to software design
Benefits
- Hands-on experience, certifications, and industry training
