Role Overview

The position involves taking full ownership of critical customer problems from inception to deployment. Working directly with founders and finance teams, the engineer designs user experiences and builds technical solutions across the full stack while helping establish the engineering culture for an early-stage B2B SaaS startup.

Key Responsibilities

Consult directly with founders, operators, and finance teams to determine appropriate product solutions.

Design and construct full-stack solutions encompassing the frontend, backend, AI components, data layers, and external integrations.

Create AI finance agents designed to automate workflows for invoicing, collections, payroll, reporting, and month-end closing.

Build reliable infrastructure that handles permissions, audit trails, precise financial reconciliation, observability, and AI evaluation.

Develop integrations with financial platforms including QuickBooks, Plaid, Stripe, banking services, accounting software, and communication tools.

Design intuitive user interfaces that present complex financial data clearly to business owners.

Deploy software to production rapidly, monitor usage, and iterate based on feedback.

Help establish foundational engineering culture, architecture, and product standards.

Requirements

Three or more years of professional software engineering experience with a history of shipping live products to production.

Demonstrated capability to work across both frontend and backend development.

Strong product sense combining strategic product thinking with technical implementation.

Curiosity and discipline to learn complex, rules-heavy domains such as accounting and financial systems.

Communication skills to collaborate directly with founders and early customers.

Nice to Have

Experience building AI agents, production language model applications, or working with Model Context Protocol.

Background in fintech, accounting, payments, banking, or financial data pipeline development.

Previous ownership of a product area at an early-stage startup.

Experience designing APIs, distributed workflows, and secure, auditable systems.
