Role Overview

Databricks seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to collaborate directly with enterprise clients to build and productionize artificial intelligence and data solutions. This position requires managing the end-to-end architecture, leading technical design choices, and integrating complex systems while working alongside cross-functional internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver production-grade technical systems, reference architectures, and custom applications for enterprise customers.
Guide strategic clients through large-scale data and artificial intelligence deployments from initial design to final production.
Oversee architectural decisions to ensure solutions remain secure, scalable, and compliant with best practices.
Collaborate with engineering and support departments to relay product feedback and resolve engagement issues rapidly.
Embed directly with client teams ranging from individual contributors to executives to understand operational challenges.
Build reusable frameworks and accelerators to scale technical impact across multiple accounts.

Requirements

Minimum of six years of professional background in software engineering, data engineering, or analytics platforms.
Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Scala, JavaScript, or TypeScript alongside modern frameworks.
Working familiarity with at least two cloud ecosystems alongside deep expertise in a single cloud platform.
Extensive background utilizing Apache Spark and understanding its runtime internals.
Experience designing production-ready end-to-end data architectures combining data pipelines, machine learning models, and user interfaces.
Capability to travel to customer locations up to twenty percent of the time.
