About this role
Arcesium is building a Corporate AI Transformation team, and this role places the right professional among the initial members of that group. The incoming engineer will bridge business operations and engineering by identifying high-impact internal use cases and converting them into working AI solutions that run in production. Responsibilities include taking ambiguous problems, designing agent architectures, and shipping scalable internal tools that reduce manual effort and improve decision-making across the firm.
Success in this position relies on strong engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and a hands-on builder approach rather than traditional backend development. Candidates who thrive here are comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving user adoption, and collaborating closely with various functional teams to transform operational processes through advanced automation.
What you will do
- Collaborate with business and functional teams to discover high-value opportunities for workflow automation, AI-assisted decision making, and autonomous agents.
- Analyze complex operational workflows and translate them into structured problem statements, technical designs, and system architectures.
- Develop agents, workflow automations, and internal applications leveraging enterprise data systems and modern AI frameworks.
- Rapidly prototype solutions using large language models, agent frameworks, and MCPs to gather early user feedback and iterate quickly.
- Coordinate with engineering, business, and security groups to transition prototypes into scalable, maintainable production software.
- Assess build-versus-buy alternatives for AI workflows and establish reusable components, templates, and playbooks across the organization.
- Define key performance indicators, measure operational impact, and drive active adoption of deployed AI solutions.
What you need
- Bring six or more years of hands-on engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping dependable systems.
- Possess strong engineering fundamentals encompassing APIs, data handling, and overall systems design.
- Demonstrate practical experience building internal tools or automation systems designed for business teams.
- Quickly comprehend platform architectures and convert complex business context into reliable technical implementations.
- Apply rigorous systems thinking to identify structural inefficiencies and redesign workflows rather than simply automating existing steps.
- Maintain an iterative shipping mindset that favors releasing minimal viable versions to learn and improve over lengthy design cycles.
- Communicate credibly and clearly with senior business and technology leaders while maintaining comfort with high levels of ambiguity and ownership.
