Role Overview

careers.azx.io seeks a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to scope, build, deploy, and measure AI solutions directly inside client environments. The person in this role acts as the primary technical face of the organization, working alongside client operators, architects, and executives to design systems that run on the client's own cloud infrastructure, toolchain, and compliance frameworks. Responsibilities span agentic workflows, document intelligence, and cognitive digital twins with measurable performance baselines.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end technical delivery for assigned clients, covering discovery, solution design, building, deployment, and handover to client teams.
Implement evaluation harnesses, replay loops, guardrails, cost controls, monitoring systems, and fallback paths for uncertain outputs.
Extract structured data from complex documents and establish deterministic validation rules for compliance and financial accuracy.
Optimize pipelines for cost and performance by transitioning tasks between frontier models, fine-tuned smaller models, and deterministic rules.
Maintain ongoing client engagement through technical working sessions, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and feedback loops.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of full-stack engineering experience, including Python, FastAPI, React, TypeScript, deployment, monitoring, and testing.
Demonstrated production experience deploying LLM and agentic systems featuring structured outputs, tool use, retrieval, and evaluation loops.
Technical familiarity with small task models, classical NLP, fine-tuning, caching, and hybrid retrieval methods.
Experience deploying applications inside external cloud environments, identity providers, and enterprise compliance structures.
Professional proficiency in enterprise integrations, containerization tools, Infrastructure as Code, and enterprise SSO.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

Master's degree.
Domain background in utilities, commercial real estate, or logistics.
