About this role
GoDaddy is building a developer platform designed to make infrastructure programmable for the AI era, serving entrepreneurs and the AI agents they rely on for business direction. The incoming director will establish a brand-new growth function from the ground up to make the platform discoverable, recommendable, and trusted by developers, agencies, and AI systems. Operating at the intersection of agentic AI, developer marketing, and platform partnerships, the person in this role will shape how the ecosystem discovers and adopts the company's technical offerings.
Reporting to Growth GTM leadership, the director will collaborate extensively with product engineering teams and central marketing functions to drive adoption across machine and human audiences. Ideal candidates bring deep expertise in developer marketing and technical partnerships, possessing the ability to navigate agent engine optimization, establish connector directory presence, and translate complex platform capabilities into clear narratives.
What you will do
- Develop the operating model and evaluation framework to drive platform discovery and adoption across developers and AI systems.
- Establish AI-agent distribution and platform partnerships by securing placement in connector and Model Context Protocol directories across major tools like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure developer documentation, markdown-native workflows, and integration guides are optimized for both machine and human consumption.
- Lead agent engine optimization as a core growth workstream to build citation frequency and referral influence across AI-assisted discovery platforms.
- Manage developer GTM channels including the engineering blog, Discord, email newsletters, and community outlets to drive awareness and advocacy.
- Plan customer engagement events and represent the organization externally at developer conferences and industry gatherings.
- Coordinate change communications for platform releases, deprecations, and pricing updates to keep active integrators informed.
- Measure platform-led growth using signals such as agent citation rate, AI referral traffic, and multi-product provisioning completion.
What you need
- Ten or more years of proven experience across developer marketing, technical marketing, product marketing, technical partnerships, or developer relations.
- Demonstrated success in building cross-functional GTM programs spanning product, engineering, communications, partnerships, and core marketing teams.
- A track record of earning credibility with developers, technical practitioners, agencies, or open-source communities through documentation, GitHub, and tutorials.
- Hands-on experience crafting platform partnerships and ecosystem distribution within marketplaces, coding assistants, or LLM chat environments.
- Strong understanding of developer tools, AI agents, MCP integrations, agent engine optimization, and machine-readable content.
