About this role
Complex federal accounts frequently struggle to transition selected data workloads into active production and maximize platform return on investment. Databricks needs a Delivery Solutions Architect to bridge commercial strategy and post-sale technical execution for public sector federal customers using the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. Working within the field engineering organization, the chosen professional will serve as the accountable technical leader, orchestrating internal resources, driving onboarding and go-live phases, and ensuring healthy workload consumption across strategic accounts.
Blending commercial acumen with hands-on technical credibility, the individual coordinates stakeholder relationships and builds actionable execution plans for complex data and AI implementations. Ideal candidates bring a strong background in technical project delivery, fluency in programming languages like Python or SQL, and experience navigating customer escalations at an executive level. Because federal contracts require accessing classified information, U.S. citizenship is mandatory for the position.
What you will do
- Collaborate with sales and field engineering to accelerate platform adoption and workload growth for complex federal accounts.
- Lead post-technical win strategies and execution plans to drive onboarding, enablement, success, and healthy workload consumption.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for production issues, managing escalations and coordinating shared services and support resources.
- Partner with professional services and product engineering teams to align delivery proposals with new platform innovations and upgrades.
- Develop and execute comprehensive work streams covering use case progression, cloud cost control, tuning, and executive governance.
- Provide regular internal and external KPI reporting on customer health, investment status, usage metrics, and operational risks.
What you need
- Possess mandatory U.S. citizenship due to federal contract requirements and client site access obligations.
- Bring at least seven years of professional experience accountable for technical project or program delivery within the data and AI domain.
- Demonstrate programming proficiency in Python, SQL, or Scala.
- Have prior experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, customer success, or consulting capacity.
- Maintain a solid understanding of solution architecture for distributed data systems and business value attribution.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or demonstrate equivalent practical work experience.
