Role Overview

The Data Scientist at Jellyfish operates from Johannesburg within the Investment Analytics practice. Reporting directly to the Director of Data Science, Investment Analytics, this position focuses on shaping Paid Media data applications and delivering measurement strategies for global clients.

Key Responsibilities

Examine data to uncover concealed patterns and supply actionable insights and recommendations.
Advocate for and execute data science methodologies like Media Mix Models, Geo-based Incrementality, Causal Impact Studies, and other testing frameworks to boost campaign results.
Build and deploy predictive models designed to elevate media performance, revenue, and customer experiences.
Collaborate with platform partners to expand capabilities in Data Clean Rooms, Media Mix Modelling, and Incrementality Testing using open-source and internal code.
Maintain thorough documentation of analytics initiatives to facilitate replication and scaling across the enterprise.
Automate and refine operational procedures.

Requirements

Professional programming capability in SQL and Python.
Between 3 and 5 years of background working in a data capacity.
Competence in data visualization via Looker, Tableau, Matplotlib, or equivalent platforms.
Familiarity with the marketing ecosystem, measurement frameworks, and media data sources including Amazon Marketing Cloud, Google ADH, Meta, Google Analytics, and Campaign Manager.
Understanding of media measurement solutions such as attribution models, incrementality, and media mix modeling.
Strong teamwork, collaborative mindset, and problem-solving abilities.

Salary and Benefits

Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus scheme.
Flexibility to work remotely for up to 60 percent of schedule days.
Flexible working hours between 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM.
