Mistral AI is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join the Engineering & Infra department based in Paris. This full-time position suits an experienced professional with a decade of background who wants to design, optimize, and maintain critical data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain analytics infrastructure, scalable data pipelines, and ETL processes while automating validation and quality checks.
Create efficient, secure, and scalable backend architectures that align with product objectives.
Partner with cross-functional departments, including machine learning teams, to support feature stores, model training, and deployment pipelines.
Tune data storage, processing, queries, and retrieval for optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
Establish and enforce standards for data lineage, metadata management, and governance.
Safeguard data integrity and security while maintaining compliance with relevant industry standards.

Requirements

Bring ten or more years of professional background working as a Data Engineer.
Demonstrate strong proficiency in programming languages and database queries such as Python and SQL.
Show familiarity with cloud computing environments like Azure, AWS, and GCP alongside modern data warehousing tools.
Possess practical experience utilizing dbt for transformations.
Display robust problem-solving abilities, analytical aptitude, and clear communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

Prior software engineering background is considered highly valuable.
