What you will do
- Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability.
- Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and perform necessary physical repairs.
- Perform root cause analysis for hardware and software failures.
- Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware.
- Assemble, install, and maintain test and tool equipment while managing inventory.
- Provide technical support to data center teams and train internal staff.
- Travel up to 10% of the time to other data center locations as required.
- Respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call.
What you need
- Demonstrated experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and assembling.
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system.
- Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods to perform diagnostic and repair tasks.
- Capacity to maneuver in cramped or elevated areas like under-floor spaces or on ladders to access server racks.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including participating in a rotating on-call shift.
