Maintaining the physical stability and operational excellence of critical AI cloud infrastructure requires dedicated on-site leadership in Cheyenne. The Data Center Operations team builds and maintains the physical foundation of the company's cloud platform, ensuring that hardware assets remain secure, scalable, and reliable for clients.
Guiding a team of technicians through daily hardware diagnostics, physical repairs, and new equipment installations forms the core of the daily routine. Operational strategies are developed and implemented to maximize uptime, while technical emergencies receive prompt responses through hands-on leadership and coordination with cross-functional partners.

What you will do
- Lead a team of data center technicians in daily operations, including server maintenance, equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement best practices for data center operations to ensure maximum efficiency and uptime.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support client projects and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Perform regular inspections and audits of data center equipment to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
- Respond to and resolve technical issues and emergencies promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge of data center operations.
- Collaborate with management to develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve data center performance and scalability.
What you need
- Have at least 5 years of experience in data center operations, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure such as servers, networking equipment, and cooling systems.
- Possess strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
- Maintain proficiency with the Linux Operating System and data center management software.
- Fulfill physical requirements including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in elevated locations, and meet all accessibility needs with reasonable accommodations.
- Commit to working in a 24/7 operational environment with participation in on-call rotations and after-hours support.
Nice to have
- Computer hardware troubleshooting and repair skills
- 5+ years of data center experience
- Computer networking experience
- Python, Bash, or other scripting languages experience
- Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent

What is the salary range for this role?
The base salary range is $95,000 to $105,000. Starting compensation is determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
What are the working hour expectations?
The facility operates in a 24/7 environment. Team members must have the flexibility to participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support.
