About this role

Role Overview

The Customer Success Engineer (Scaled) at Deepgram is a full-time, remote position based in the USA that manages adoption, retention, and expansion across a large, pooled portfolio of fast-growing accounts using a digital-first, one-to-many approach. This role is ideal for a technical professional who thrives on building scalable systems, troubleshooting APIs, and driving customer success without relying solely on traditional one-on-one meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute digital customer onboarding sequences, automated lifecycle touchpoints, in-app guidance, and self-serve resources to accelerate time-to-first-value.
Deliver hands-on technical guidance, including running demos, guiding API integrations and architecture decisions, and resolving L1/L2 issues for developer audiences.
Develop and maintain reusable enablement assets such as demo scripts, integration guides, sample code, evaluation kits, playbooks, and micro-videos.
Execute one-to-many programs like webinars, office hours, and education campaigns to drive product adoption and spot expansion opportunities.
Monitor account health, product usage, and churn-risk signals to trigger proactive data-driven outreach across the portfolio.
Identify and scope cross-sell, upsell, and multi-product expansion opportunities at scale while collaborating with Sales on higher-value deals.
Serve as the internal voice of the customer by translating digital interactions and usage data into feedback for the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
Track, analyze, and report portfolio-level KPIs including activation, adoption, usage, health, retention, and expansion.
Build automation, templates, and repeatable playbooks that eliminate manual tasks and create compounding leverage for the scaled segment.

Requirements

3 to 5+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role such as Customer Success Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Implementation, Technical Account Management, or Support Engineering within an API-driven, developer-first, or AI organization.
Strong fluency in APIs, developer workflows, and integration patterns to conduct demos and troubleshoot L1/L2 technical issues.
Proven experience serving a high volume of customers or building scaled, tech-touch programs like digital onboarding, one-to-many campaigns, webinars, or automated journeys.
Strong systems thinking and process orientation, demonstrated by previously built repeatable playbooks, templates, or automations.
Data-driven mindset with comfort using product usage and customer health data to prioritize and refine daily work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to educate and drive action across a broad audience.
High sense of ownership and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a remote environment.

Nice to Have

Experience in a scaled, digital, or tech-touch Customer Success motion or working with consumption-based business models.
Working fluency with automation, scripting, or agent-building using Python, TypeScript, workflow tools, and agent frameworks.
Familiarity with customer success, customer education, or marketing-automation platforms like Gainsight, Vitally, or ChurnZero, alongside product analytics tools.
Background in AI, machine learning, voice AI, cloud infrastructure, or developer-first technologies.
Previous experience combining technical customer-facing work with Customer Education, Scaled Success, or Customer Marketing.
