About this role
The day-to-day work for the Controls Product Senior Manager involves establishing and driving the product platform that supports safe growth within Monzo's risk framework. This role is central to transforming how the organization manages risk by treating control tools and data pipelines as internal products designed for speed and safety. The individual will act as the Product Lead for core risk lifecycles, including Issues, RCSAs, Controls, Policy, and Regulatory Traceability. A significant part of the job involves moving beyond documentation to actively building solutions, prototyping low-code tools, and leveraging AI to automate manual risk processes.
This position exists to address the friction caused by traditional, manual risk governance by creating automated, self-service platforms. The goal is to shift from periodic assessments to continuous, real-time risk intelligence. The role requires a person who can bridge the gap between technical execution and business risk needs, ensuring that the control framework is both robust and easily adoptable by engineers and business leads. It is ideal for someone who thrives on transforming ambiguous operational problems into streamlined, scalable technical solutions.
Successful candidates will possess a blend of product management acumen, hands-on building skills, and an aptitude for integrating emerging technologies like AI into risk management processes.
