About this role

Scaling high-performance AI inference infrastructure requires eliminating bottlenecks in data center expansion and GPU cloud procurement before they impact customer delivery. Baseten needs a Capacity Manager to oversee on-premises data center builds and neo cloud delivery programs, bridging infrastructure engineering, capacity planning, and vendor management.

The incoming professional will own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle for large-scale compute infrastructure, handling everything from initial site commitments and hardware bring-up to final capacity landing. Operating at the intersection of technical execution and cross-functional coordination, the individual in this role will turn ambitious infrastructure roadmaps into predictable, on-time schedules.

Success in this position calls for a structured problem-solver with deep experience in physical infrastructure delivery who is comfortable managing complex multi-vendor programs under tight deadlines. Candidates who thrive here will enjoy working in a high-growth environment characterized by ambiguity and direct exposure to executive leadership.

What you will do

  • Manage the complete delivery of on-premises infrastructure builds including colocation expansions, power readiness, network fabric setup, and hardware testing.
  • Drive neo cloud and GPU cloud delivery programs by overseeing partner contracts, capacity ramps, and service level agreements.
  • Create and maintain master delivery schedules that integrate power timelines, hardware lead times, and software readiness.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, data center operations, finance, and legal to translate technical dependencies into clear statuses.
  • Oversee vendor relationships with colocation partners, hardware original equipment manufacturers, and logistics contractors to ensure compliance with commitments.
  • Identify critical path risks related to power availability, supply chains, and lead times while driving proactive mitigation.
  • Establish standardized program governance frameworks including milestone definitions, risk logs, and reporting cadences.
  • Collaborate with capacity planning teams to align delivery timelines with business contracts and internal growth targets.

What you need

  • Bring over eight years of experience in technical program management, delivery management, or infrastructure leadership.
  • Demonstrate at least three years of specific experience managing large-scale physical infrastructure or data center delivery programs.
  • Possess direct experience delivering on-premises data center builds spanning power, cooling, network, and rack integration.
  • Understand GPU cloud and neo cloud capacity delivery including cluster architectures, power densities, and commercial contracts.
  • Show a proven track record of managing complex multi-vendor programs with external deadlines and financial exposure.
  • Exhibit strong executive communication skills to distill operational risks into decision-ready updates.
  • Display hands-on vendor management experience including holding partners accountable to delivery commitments.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a hyperscaler, neo cloud provider, colocation company, or AI infrastructure company
  • Familiarity with GPU hardware lifecycles, thermal constraints, and compute supply chain dynamics
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification
  • Experience building delivery and program management functions from the ground up

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity
  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents in the U.S.
  • Flexible PTO policy including company-wide Winter Break
  • Paid parental leave
