About this role

Managing merchant relationships and driving adoption metrics occupy the daily responsibilities for this position within DoorDash Labs. The team explores robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics, specifically ensuring that restaurants and retailers can reliably interact with delivery robots. This role owns the merchant side of autonomy commercialization by building operational mechanisms and feedback loops between field operations and engineering.

Candidates will define merchant performance benchmarks such as handoff success rate and dwell time, while partnering with sales and account management to recruit partner cohorts. Building operational mechanisms from scratch and advocating for merchant constraints in product reviews form core parts of the mandate. The ideal person thrives in ambiguous environments and possesses a strong metric-driven mindset.

What you will do

  • Own merchant adoption and performance KPIs for autonomy end-to-end by defining successful interactions and driving improvement.
  • Build playbooks and operational mechanisms to onboard merchants through training, go-live, and steady-state operations across markets.
  • Partner with sales, account management, and field ops to recruit merchant cohorts and design experiments testing new features.
  • Define merchant performance benchmarks like handoff success rate and dwell time while holding internal teams accountable.
  • Establish feedback loops from the field to product and engineering by turning merchant complaints into prioritized inputs.
  • Advocate for merchant constraints during product reviews, roadmap planning, and launch decisions.

What you need

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • Demonstrate 3 to 6 years of experience in Strategy and Operations, Merchant or Partner Success, Product Operations, or Business Strategy.
  • Show proven capability in building operational mechanisms from scratch including onboarding flows and escalation paths.
  • Maintain comfort spending time in the field with merchants and on-the-ground operations teams.
  • Think in metrics with the ability to define a KPI and differentiate between real signal and noise.
  • Communicate clearly across audiences by translating frontline merchant pain into crisp product asks.

Nice to have

  • Experience launching new technology, hardware, or operationally complex products with external partners
