Mistral AI is looking for an Applied AI, Machine Learning Engineer to join its Solutions department in Seoul, South Korea on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for experienced AI professionals who want to guide enterprise customers through the successful deployment of cutting-edge generative AI products.

Role Overview

Mistral AI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to facilitate product adoption among customers and collaborate on solving complex technical challenges. Operating within the Applied AI Engineering team, this position supports clients from the pre-sale phase through post-implementation. The professional manages daily customer relations with stakeholders ranging from executive leadership to technical teams, turning advanced research into functional production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Onboard customers onto company products and APIs, offering expert direction on prompting, evaluation, fine-tuning, and production integration.
Drive technological transformations by working on state-of-the-art generative AI applications across consumer and industrial use cases.
Deploy high-impact business use cases independently across multiple demanding industries.
Partner with researchers, AI engineers, and product engineers on complex customer projects involving advanced fine-tuning and LLM applications.
Participate in pre-sales calls to evaluate client needs, explain Mistral technologies, and provide technical guidance to diverse stakeholders.
Channel customer feedback directly to product and science teams to continuously enhance model and product capabilities.

Requirements

Fluent in both English and Korean.
Holds a PhD or Master's degree in AI or data science.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical individual contributor working as a data scientist or software engineer on AI products.
Hands-on experience fine-tuning large language models, managing advanced RAG, or building agentic use cases.
Deep understanding of the concepts and algorithms behind machine learning and LLMs.
Proven background in implementing AI or machine learning products that integrate APIs with back-end and front-end interfaces.
Strong technical coding skills using Python and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch.
Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain and vector databases.
Excellent communication skills capable of translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

Contributions to open-source projects, specifically within the LLM space.
Professional background as a Customer Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Product Manager.
