About this role

Role Overview

Mistral AI is hiring a founding Applied AI Site Reliability Engineer for a remote-friendly role based in Paris. This position suits an experienced SRE professional ready to build and operate frameworks that ensure reliable and sustainable AI solution delivery across enterprise accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Design platforms and applications, productize reliability, create SLO templates, write runbooks, and implement observability.
Operate Tier-1 customer environments managed by Mistral, handle incident response, manage drift, and lead post-mortems.
Productize deployment, security, and scaling procedures through on-demand provisioning and automation.
Own security operations for customer-side deployments, including CVE responses and supply-chain integrity controls.

Requirements

Fluent in English.
5+ years of professional experience in SRE, Production Engineering, or DevOps with a history of shipping tooling.
Advanced multi-tenant Kubernetes fluency including namespace segmentation, RBAC, and admission control.
Solid background in on-call discipline, incident response, and blameless post-mortem practices.
Production experience with observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki, Tempo, and Signoz.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Coding competence in Python and/or Golang for automation and tooling.
Strong security mindset incorporating secure-SDLC and supply-chain integrity into reliability properties.
Excellent written communication skills for producing runbooks, post-mortems, and incident communications.
Ability to thrive with high autonomy in a fast-paced environment while managing project scope.
Comprehensive understanding of Linux internals, distributed-systems fundamentals, and networking debugging.

Nice to Have

Background in cloud or application security, including K8s security and software supply-chain standards.
Direct experience operating large language model or model-serving stacks in production.
Familiarity with hybrid, on-premise, or multi-cloud customer environments across AWS, GCP, Azure, and sovereign clouds.
Open-source contributions related to observability, security, or SRE tooling.
