Role Overview

In this Paris-based Solutions role, the Applied AI Engineer collaborates directly with enterprise customers to solve complex technical challenges and implement customized AI systems. Operating in small teams with high-stakes project ownership, this position resembles the role of a startup CTO. Responsibilities span designing architectures, handling massive data, writing code, and consulting with executive stakeholders across demanding industries.

Key Responsibilities

Guide enterprise clients through the onboarding process for company products, advising on deployment, integration, and optimal production setups from the low-level GPU stack to infrastructure and application interfaces.
Deploy cutting-edge AI applications for consumer and industrial use cases to drive technological transformations.
Collaborate closely with researchers, AI engineers, and product teams on complex customer projects involving scaling, deployment, and contributions to open-source inference and fine-tuning codebases.
Participate in pre-sales discussions to identify prospective client requirements and articulate Mistral technologies to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

Fluent in English.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
Demonstrated experience deploying and managing AI-based products in production environments.
Fluency in Python.
Working knowledge of containerization tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tooling.
Strong comprehension of major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, alongside on-premises infrastructure.
Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Excellent communication skills to explain intricate technical concepts clearly.

Nice to Have

Prior background working as a Customer Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Product Manager.
Working familiarity with AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Prior contributions to open-source projects, specifically within the AI or DevOps domains.
