Role Overview

Mistral AI is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to join the Solutions department in Paris. In this position, the professional works directly with customers starting from the pre-sale stage through post-implementation. The job involves partnering closely with clients across high-stakes industries like finance, healthcare, defense, manufacturing, and the public sector to co-create customized artificial intelligence systems that run on their own terms.

Key Responsibilities

Work hand-in-hand with researchers, product engineers, and artificial intelligence engineers on intricate customer initiatives.
Integrate advanced artificial intelligence models directly into the software products of clients.
Design, build, and sustain scalable, robust full-stack applications with seamless front-end and back-end integration.
Build complex use cases alongside clients while offering guidance for optimal production integration across interfaces.
Relay customer feedback to the product and science teams to help enhance model capabilities and product features.

Requirements

Fluency in the English language.
A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of two years of experience working as a technical individual contributor with advanced technologies.
Strong coding proficiency in Python and TypeScript.
Practical background using front-end frameworks such as VueJS, React, or NextJS.
Experience working with back-end technologies like NodeJS.
Firm grasp of core software development principles, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
Excellent communication abilities to articulate complex technical ideas simply to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

Practical background working with Generative AI or Large Language Models (LLMs).
Contributions made to open-source software libraries or projects.
Prior professional experience functioning as a Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, Customer Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Technical Product Manager.
