Role Overview

The Android Software Engineer takes full ownership of the mobile client experience, determining how artificial intelligence functions and performs on user devices. This position involves constructing a production-level application where AI capabilities sit at the center of the product. The role demands a strong focus on system reliability, responsiveness, and clarity during complex mobile interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Construct and maintain production Android applications using Kotlin.
Connect backend APIs to deliver AI-driven features like chat, vision, voice, and recommendations.
Create user experience patterns for AI interactions including streaming responses, partial results, and retries.
Tune responsiveness, memory consumption, and performance for heavy AI workloads.
Deploy feedback capture, logging, and analytics tools to aid AI iteration and evaluation.
Partner with machine learning and backend engineers to define system behavior and API contracts.
Maintain production security, stability, and scalability.

Requirements

At least three years of professional Android development practice utilizing Kotlin.
Practical background connecting artificial intelligence features such as speech, vision, or large language model APIs.
Deep knowledge of asynchronous programming methods including Flow and Coroutines.
Working knowledge of structured data formats alongside gRPC or REST APIs.
Advanced performance profiling and debugging capabilities.
Ability to operate effectively within environments dealing with latency, non-deterministic behavior, and partial failures.
Prior release of production applications onto the Google Play Store.

Nice to Have

Practical background utilizing MLKit or light on-device inference.
