Role Overview

Pragmatike is hiring an AI Infrastructure Hardware Engineer on behalf of a European deep-tech company that designs and manufactures high-performance computing hardware. Located in Hong Kong, this hybrid position requires regular physical presence on factory floors and inside testing labs rather than remote or desk-based work. The professional joining this organization will take charge of hardware testing, quality control, and validation for proprietary GPU servers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage quality control protocols directly on manufacturing floors for hardware components.
Direct the hardware test lab by conducting board and system bring-up, validation, and stress testing for new server builds.
Supervise assembly and comprehensive testing procedures for GPU servers prior to sovereign cloud deployment.
Establish and oversee acceptance criteria, quality checkpoints, and test processes for full systems, boards, and chassis.
Investigate and resolve hardware, driver-level, and firmware complications involving power, thermals, PCIe, BIOS, and BMC.
Measure GPU compute and interconnect performance utilizing Linux alongside benchmarking tools like NCCL and CUDA.
Record test outcomes, yield rates, and hardware failures to inform future production and design adjustments.
Communicate daily with local suppliers and manufacturing partners using both Mandarin and English.

Requirements

Demonstrated background in hands-on testing and validation of HPC or GPU servers rather than purely operating them.
Proficient system- and hardware-level Linux competencies.
Expertise in firmware including UEFI, BIOS, IPMI, BMC, and GPU or network interface card flashing and diagnostics.
Practical understanding of the NVIDIA GPU ecosystem covering drivers, benchmarking, and multi-GPU diagnostics.
Comprehensive knowledge of server hardware architecture such as power delivery, cooling systems, storage, motherboards, and PCIe topologies.
Background in quality control or manufacturing test environments for hardware production.
Mandatory fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
Preparedness to work physically on-site in Hong Kong across laboratory and factory settings.

Nice to Have

Background working with micro-datacenters or containerized deployments dealing with thermal and power limitations.
Understanding of high-speed interconnect validation such as RoCE, NVLink, and InfiniBand.
Programming capabilities in Python or Bash for report and test automation.
Background interacting with contract manufacturers or hardware supply chains located in Southern China or Hong Kong.
Proficiency in Cantonese.
