Role Overview

Capco is hiring an AI Engineer for a full-time position located in Toronto, Canada. This forward-deployed engineering role bridges the gap between technical execution and business consulting. Professionals in this role take ownership of the complete engineering lifecycle, ranging from initial discovery and prototyping to demonstration, iteration, and deployment across diverse client architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to analyze problems, gather requirements, and formulate practical artificial intelligence solutions.
Design, develop, test, demonstrate, and deploy artificial intelligence agents and agentic systems that address specific business challenges.
Manage the end-to-end engineering lifecycle, moving swiftly from rapid prototypes to iterative production deployments.
Adapt technical execution to various client platforms and data environments, including systems like Snowflake and Databricks.
Present solutions to business partners, collect user feedback, and coordinate across product, data, and technology teams for continuous system improvement.

Requirements

Minimum of two years of relevant software, data, or artificial intelligence engineering background, featuring practical development of AI applications or agentic solutions.
Proficient Python coding capabilities paired with a solid grasp of artificial intelligence architectures and agent systems.
Proven capacity to shepherd solutions from initial business requirements through design, building, demonstration, and deployment phases.
Familiarity with modern data and AI platforms, including foundational data science skills and exposure to Snowflake or Databricks.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities to articulate technical concepts within a consulting setting.

Nice to Have

Background in building and launching AI agents directly into production environments.
Direct experience partnering with clients or business stakeholders in a technical engineering capacity.
Proficiency in rapid prototyping and iterative development based on direct user feedback.
Exposure to multiple cloud, enterprise, or data ecosystems rather than specialization in a single platform.
History of delivering artificial intelligence implementations within financial services or similarly regulated sectors.
