Role Overview

Hilbert is seeking an AI Engineer - Core to join its team in Türkiye. The position involves building production-grade AI systems from prototype to pipeline to product, focusing on agent architectures, evaluation systems, and demanding enterprise data challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Own the evaluation layer for agents, including harnesses, metrics, golden datasets, regression gates, and human-in-the-loop review.
Architect and implement agent workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent frameworks for state memory, routing, tools registries, and recovery paths.
Operate systems in production, handling tracing, monitoring, latency, cost-per-task budgeting, and on-call duties.
Diagnose real production failures such as hallucinations, tool misuse, retrieval misses, and silent degradation to create durable fixes and tests.
Set technical standards for agent work by reviewing designs and defining patterns for the team.
Collaborate closely with the founding team and cross-functional partners to communicate tradeoffs, progress, and technical decisions.
Make pragmatic engineering decisions under ambiguity, shipping and iterating quickly.

Requirements

4+ years of production software engineering experience spanning APIs, services, and data infrastructure with tests, CI/CD, and on-call.
2+ years of experience building LLM or agent systems that shipped to production and were adopted by real users.
Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent agent and orchestration frameworks.
Ability to communicate with clarity and conviction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong sense of ownership, self-direction, and ability to thrive in ambiguity and startup-speed environments.

Nice to Have

Deep experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including hybrid and graph retrieval, chunking, embedding strategy, ranking, and grounding.
Experience with LLM observability tools like Langfuse and OpenTelemetry, as well as cost and latency optimization.
Familiarity with MCP, tool-calling frameworks, structured output, and constrained decoding.
Background working at early-stage startups or high-growth environments.
