About this role
The People Data team at Decathlon Digital is building a centralized, tool-agnostic intelligence layer to transform the employee experience for 100,000 colleagues across more than 70 countries. At the center of this initiative is DaiLY, a conversational HR agent designed to deliver reliable information sourced from internal documentation and Workday policies, which is now scaling internationally into an agentic transactional system.
In this role, an AI engineer will work closely with other AI engineers, a Lead AI Engineer, and a Product Manager to industrialize and develop DaiLY. Responsibilities include implementing tool-calling and multi-agent communications, building RAG pipelines, and establishing observability and security guardrails. The ideal candidate acts as a builder capable of translating business requirements into robust technical solutions while maintaining systems over time.
What you will do
- Participate in the expansion of DaiLY toward write actions by implementing tool-calling protocols and inter-agent communications.
- Implement advanced chunking and re-ranking strategies to prioritize HR-specific rules and optimize system costs, latency, and overall efficiency.
- Develop and maintain the quality layer of multi-agent RAG pipelines using Vertex AI Search and Discovery Engine, ensuring response grounding and traceability.
- Set up robust observability pipelines for online and offline evaluation using tools like OpenTelemetry and MLflow.
- Code automated evaluators based on golden datasets to iterate securely and prevent regressions prior to production releases.
- Integrate guardrails to protect the system and users against hallucinations and errors.
- Implement dynamic access management and metadata filtering in vector databases to enforce strict data privacy across legal entities and geographies.
- Contribute to internationalization architecture by adapting RAG, embedding, and inference pipelines for multi-language support.
What you need
- Several years of professional experience in AI engineering, ML engineering, or AI-focused software engineering, excluding internships and apprenticeships.
- At least one concrete, successful experience bringing a GenAI or agentic system into production.
- Strong proficiency in Python, the GCP and Vertex AI ecosystem, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or ADK.
- Deep expertise in RAG architectures, vector search, and agentic concepts including function calling, reasoning loops, and multi-agent workflows.
- Ability to diagnose incorrect model outputs and familiarity with application observability using SQL, BigQuery, or MLflow.
- Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English.
Nice to have
- Technical knowledge of A2A protocols and MCP
- Experience with multimodal document processing or HRIS ecosystems like Workday
- Understanding of security requirements such as RBAC, ACLs, and GDPR applied to LLMs
- Knowledge of microservice architectures and API design
