About this role

This role suits a creative technologist and designer based in Budapest who wants to combine generative AI tool development with hands-on campaign production for global brands. DEPT® is hiring a full-time AI Designer & Creative Technologist to work primarily remotely with UK teams from Hungary.

Role Overview

The AI Designer & Creative Technologist position at DEPT® involves two main functions: producing generative AI creative work for live client projects and building internal tools and automated workflows to accelerate agency operations. This hands-on role collaborates daily with creative directors, account teams, and UK clients, involving creative sprints and workshops. The position is open to various levels of experience, with the scope shaped around the candidate's background.

Key Responsibilities

Transform creative briefs into AI-generated and AI-enhanced imagery, video, and motion assets for social, paid, digital, and campaign projects.
Build, test, and refine prompts across image and video generation tools while maintaining a client-specific prompt library.
Polish AI outputs using Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro to ensure seamless integration with traditional photography, design, and live-action media.
Maintain brand and character consistency across generated assets through references, style guides, and custom models.
Produce rapid concepts, styleframes, and visual explorations to accelerate team pitching and iteration.
Develop repeatable AI workflows, prompt frameworks, and best-practice documentation for the broader team.
Identify repetitive manual tasks in designer workflows and build automation tools such as Adobe and Figma scripts, plugins, node-based pipelines, and browser utilities.
Prototype and maintain internal tools in collaboration with users, iterating based on real feedback.
Serve as an internal AI knowledge resource for creative directors and account teams regarding feasibility, time/risk costs, and pitching strategies.
Manage responsible AI usage, including client guidelines, data handling, intellectual property, likeness, disclosure labeling, and provenance metadata.
Collaborate with producers to accurately scope AI deliverables and determine when AI is not the appropriate approach.
Share knowledge through show-and-tells, training sessions, and internal or external presentations.
Monitor emerging tools and models, test them against real briefs, and recommend adoption paths.

Requirements

Portfolio showcasing professional AI-generated or AI-enhanced work for brands, agencies, or personal projects.
Strong design fundamentals including composition, typography, and color theory.
Practical experience building node-based AI workflows (such as Figma Weave, ComfyUI, Flora) that chain models like Flux, Veo, Kling, and Sora with editing steps.
Proficiency in Photoshop alongside working knowledge of After Effects or Premiere Pro.
Scripting and automation skills using Python, JavaScript, ExtendScript, Figma plugins, or ComfyUI to accelerate creative production.
Problem-solving ability to identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies.
Understanding of social, paid, and digital asset specifications including formats, safe zones, aspect ratios, and versioning.
Awareness of ethical, legal, and brand-safety considerations regarding commercial generative AI.
Fluent English communication skills with the ability to present processes to creative directors, account teams, and clients.
Willingness to share knowledge and support team members in developing tool proficiency.
