Role Overview

In this leadership position within the AI Center of Excellence, the director serves as the primary liaison connecting the AI COE with corporate stakeholders, technology teams, and internal governance functions like Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Risk, Privacy, and Procurement. The professional ensures consistent delivery of AI tools and education across various platforms, translates vision into action, manages strategic initiatives, and equips teams to embrace an AI-driven future.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the main contact between the AI Center of Excellence and enterprise partners including Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Risk, Privacy, Procurement, Technology, and business leadership.

Manage relationships with strategic technology and external AI vendors to guarantee alignment with company goals, handling vendor onboarding, evaluation, and performance monitoring.

Design and improve processes that enhance coordination, governance, and operational execution throughout the AI COE ecosystem.

Create metrics and reporting systems to track partnership effectiveness, project progress, and business results.

Lead cross-functional workstreams to guarantee successful implementation, operational readiness, and streamlined stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree.

Requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience spanning product development, technology, or data.

Demonstrated history of leading large-scale, cross-functional transformations that yield measurable business impact.

Prior experience successfully deploying artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions within regulated industries, with financial services background strongly preferred.

Comprehensive understanding of AI and ML ecosystems, large language models, data platforms, and orchestration layers.

Proven ability to balance innovation, risk management, and regulatory compliance while maintaining deep systems thinking.

Skills and Tools

Strategic partnership management and external vendor lifecycle oversight.

Salary and Benefits

Edelman Financial Engines implements a market-based pay approach, offering a national base salary range of $151,100 to $201,500 USD, with final compensation determined by skills, experience, responsibilities, geographic location, and market conditions.
