About this role

Fairmarkit is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer in Boston for a hybrid role on a new artificial intelligence business line. This position suits an experienced builder with a founder mentality who wants to design and scale next-generation autonomous commerce solutions from the ground up.

Role Overview

Fairmarkit is establishing an elite founding team to build a brand new AI and agentic business line from scratch in Boston. Serving as one of the first two technical hires for this venture, the engineer will collaborate daily with the co-founders with minimal bureaucracy and maximum impact. The professional in this position will operate in a zero-to-one environment, shaping the foundational technical architecture, engineering culture, and product experience for an autonomous sourcing platform.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and build agentic AI systems from inception to reshape modern commerce.
Own full-stack development across the entire lifecycle, from infrastructure and backend logic to the user interface.
Design intuitive, AI-native user experiences alongside core backend capabilities.
Prototype rapidly and iterate based on direct feedback from co-founders and early customers.
Partner closely with fast-moving industry leaders who demand high velocity and reliability.
Establish the technical foundation, stack decisions, and engineering standards for a rapidly growing team.

Requirements

Hands-on professional background in building and launching production-ready LLM-powered applications or agentic systems.
Solid full-stack engineering expertise using modern JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, Python, REST and GraphQL APIs, and major cloud infrastructure platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Practical familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar tools.
Strong product intuition and design sensibilities to craft compelling user experiences.
Ability to maintain high foundational quality while moving at a fast pace.
Possess a founder mentality focused on users, business outcomes, and high-ownership execution.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity within a zero-to-one startup environment.
Must reside in Boston, Massachusetts.

Nice to Have

Background working with marketplace or product-led growth (PLG) products.
Prior startup experience or founding background.
Extensive use of AI-assisted coding tools.
Domain knowledge in procurement, supply chain operations, or B2B commerce.
