Role Overview

The Conversion Modeling Team at Reddit drives user conversions from Reddit Ads by developing and maintaining advanced machine learning models that focus on predictive interactions like purchases, signups, and add-to-cart actions. The Engineering Manager will define the team vision, execute technical roadmaps, and oversee the entire machine learning model lifecycle from ideation to production. This leader collaborates closely with product management, data science, and other engineering functions to align on engagement strategies, data requirements, and performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities

Build, lead, mentor, and retain top machine learning engineering talent within a diverse and impactful team.
Set and communicate a long-term technical strategy and roadmap for conversion modeling that balances innovation with business objectives.
Oversee the model development lifecycle, guaranteeing high standards of performance and robustness for production-grade systems.
Partner cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, and engineering groups to align on model goals and data needs.
Innovate and optimize deep learning model architectures specifically tailored for conversion prediction and ranking.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience building and managing high-performing machine learning teams, or equivalent tech lead experience, preferably in the ads domain.
Deep hands-on expertise working with machine learning models and deploying them into large-scale production environments.
Technical background in ads conversion modeling, ranking, heavy rankers, or recommendation systems.
Strong strategic thinking capabilities with a proven ability to align technical strategy with broader company goals.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for connecting with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

Nice to Have

Background in ads modeling or familiarity with engagement prediction models specifically within the advertising industry.

Salary and Benefits

Base salary range of $230,000 to $322,000 USD, with final offers determined by factors such as skills, depth of experience, and credentials.
