About this role

Managing end-to-end technical accounts receivable accounting across global balances and multiple legal entities forms the core of daily operations in this role. Working within a structured preparer/reviewer framework alongside order-to-cash, revenue, and finance transformation teams, the successful candidate ensures subledger integrity and accurate management reporting.

Databricks is expanding its finance function to stay ahead of the curve by maximizing self-serve AI capabilities and driving an AI-first automation roadmap. The accounting manager will own the monthly close cycle, manage allowance for doubtful accounts models, and champion AI adoption across workflows while preparing audit-ready workpapers for internal and external auditors.

Ideal candidates bring strong operational execution combined with sound U.S. GAAP technical accounting judgment for complex global receivables. High ownership, attention to detail, and comfort operating in fast-moving environments are essential traits for success.

What you will do

  • Autonomously lead the monthly close cycle for global accounts receivable balances, including subledger-to-GL reconciliations and close accruals.
  • Manage allowance for doubtful accounts and current expected credit loss accounting models by assessing underlying assumptions and portfolio trends.
  • Identify, design, and adopt artificial intelligence and automation opportunities across accounts receivable accounting workflows.
  • Maintain accounts receivable subledger integrity, flux analyses, and variance explanations to provide clear management insights.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors regarding accounts receivable schedules and walkthroughs.
  • Partner with billing operations, cash applications, revenue assurance, and corporate accounting teams to validate subledger accuracy.
  • Collaborate with transformation, engineering, and IT teams to redesign workflows and support systems implementations like SAP.

What you need

  • Possess six or more years of progressive accounts receivable and general ledger accounting experience in a mid-to-large organization.
  • Demonstrate strong U.S. GAAP judgment with the ability to independently research and document accounting conclusions for receivables and revenue alignment.
  • Show proven ability to operate independently with high autonomy and produce reviewer-ready workpapers within a structured framework.
  • Bring hands-on enterprise resource planning experience with systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
  • Display advanced Excel proficiency, including power query and dynamic arrays, alongside familiarity with deploying financial technology tools.

Nice to have

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Prior experience supporting the accounting workstream of an acquisition
  • High-growth technology or SaaS industry experience
  • Exposure to recurring or usage-based billing models
  • Public accounting background
