Role Overview

DataGrail is hiring a remote Technical Success Engineer to serve as the initial point of contact for the support queue and guide technical troubleshooting. This role suits a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical background who enjoys investigating software issues and collaborating with engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage tier 1 technical support requests directly, determining when issues require deeper engineering expertise.
Reproduce reported software bugs and supply engineering teams with clear diagnostic context and reproduction steps.
Facilitate communication between customers and engineering, ensuring every support ticket reaches a clear resolution.
Collaborate closely with the customer success division to support smooth technical onboarding for clients.
Maintain and update public documentation to empower users with self-service troubleshooting resources.
Analyze support ticket trends to decrease resolution times and improve internal processes.
Utilize AI-first workflows and daily tools to accelerate team efficiency.
Partner with product and engineering groups by sharing direct insights regarding customer roadblocks.

Requirements

Professional background in technical support, software engineering, or technical implementation.
Familiarity with at least one programming language, ideally Ruby on Rails, along with scripting capabilities for issue diagnosis.
Capacity to extract technical details from non-technical users, analyze log files, and reproduce software bugs.
Strong written communication skills for direct client interactions via email or video conferencing.
Ability to multitask, prioritize urgent issues, and thrive in an ambiguous environment.
AI-first mindset incorporating daily use of tools like Claude and Claude Code.

Nice to Have

Prior experience working with REST APIs and authentication protocols such as SAML and SSO.
Background using logging and observability platforms like Sentry or Datadog.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure basics or AWS.
Familiarity with SQL and data analytics.
