Technical Program Manager, Commercialization - Expansion

Waymo seeks a Technical Program Manager to join the commercialization and expansion team in Mountain View or San Francisco. This group manages roadmap execution by delivering cross-functional planning and proactive risk management without established playbooks.
The person in this role will drive program execution for autonomous vehicle expansion testing and validation in domestic and international markets. Responsibilities include orchestrating fleet setups, organizing milestone tracking for launches, and aligning market entry roadmaps with product, engineering, operations, and mapping teams. The position exists to bring structure to multi-market deployments and ensure alignment across critical stakeholders.
What you will do
- Drive program execution, communication, and cross-functional coordination for autonomous vehicle expansion testing and validation across domestic and international markets.
- Centrally orchestrate fleet setup and driving configurations across multiple markets.
- Organize tracking across various phases and milestones leading up to major launches and deployments.
- Align market entry roadmaps in partnership with product, engineering, operations, and mapping teams based on testing feasibility and readiness.
- Establish and own processes and tooling improvements for medium- and small-scale validation programs.
- Lead weekly reporting, program reviews, updates, and guidance to ensure alignment across critical stakeholders.
What you need
- Bring five or more years of experience managing highly complex cross-functional programs.
- Possess experience as a technical program manager driving complex, large-scale execution across technical and operational domains.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of managing cross-functional alignment across engineering, product management, operations, and mapping teams.
- Apply intuitional judgment around competing priorities and leverage strong experience in data and configuration management, operational forecasting, or fleet and resources allocation.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish process structure, write operational playbooks, and identify and mitigate silent risks early.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is $196,000 to $242,000 USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
