About this role

Managing a portfolio of global accounts as the primary technical and strategic partner, the incoming Technical Account Manager handles post-sale onboarding, enablement, and ongoing adoption. Daily duties involve leading technical enablement sessions, troubleshooting integration issues using Python, and acting as a trusted advisor to data scientists and engineers building machine learning and generative AI applications.

Comet builds the development platform for teams shipping robust and reliable AI applications, including Opik for open-source LLM evaluation and experiment management tools used by major organizations. The team works alongside researchers and developers across diverse domains such as self-driving cars, drug discovery, and diffusion models, backed by over $63 million in venture capital.

Ideal candidates bring a background as a Technical Account Manager, Solutions Architect, or Machine Learning Engineer with customer-facing experience in the AI domain. This remote-first role in North America suits professionals who can balance technical depth in MLOps and LLM frameworks with relationship management to drive customer retention and account growth.

What you will do

  • Manage an end-to-end portfolio of global accounts as the primary point of contact post-sale, ensuring customers achieve their technical and business outcomes.
  • Lead onboarding and technical enablement sessions for workflows ranging from time series forecasting to LLM fine-tuning and agentic AI development.
  • Troubleshoot technical questions and resolve end-user issues involving Python SDK integration and custom visualizations.
  • Leverage health analytics and machine learning knowledge to spot account expansion opportunities and mitigate churn risks alongside the sales team.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to share customer feedback and help shape the roadmap for agentic AI use cases.
  • Participate in renewal processes by demonstrating ongoing platform value and aligning with account teams.

What you need

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the AI and machine learning domain in a customer-facing role such as TAM, Solutions Engineering, or technical consulting.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM and agentic AI development processes, including familiarity with common models and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of LLM observability and evaluation concepts like tracing, evaluation datasets, and experiment tracking.
  • Strong Python programming skills sufficient to write integration scripts, debug customer code, and build working examples.
  • Understanding of the current machine learning, MLOps, and agentic AI landscape including tools and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, technical escalations, and stakeholder relationships across a portfolio of accounts.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, alongside Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with traditional machine learning frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, XGBoost, and Hugging Face.
  • Experience working with customers in regulated industries like financial services, insurance, or pharma, covering security and compliance requirements.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in AI developer communities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus variable compensation ($150-165K + $15-25K)
