The Strategic Projects Lead - Coding position at AfterQuery is a full-time opportunity based in San Francisco, working on-site to build next-generation data solutions for foundation model development. Key Responsibilities

Partner with top-tier artificial intelligence organizations to create advanced data solutions that expand model capabilities while driving revenue.
Lead and coordinate specialized teams of contributors across fields such as data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
Design dataset specifications that directly shape how frontier artificial intelligence systems are evaluated and improved.
Own critical projects from initial concept through scoping, execution, iteration, and final delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Handle a diverse range of operational initiatives, moving fluidly between building, analyzing, coordinating, and executing across different areas of the business.

Requirements

Bring two or more years of experience working at a quantitative trading firm or a top-tier technology company, such as a frontier AI lab or FAANG.
Hold a background in computer science, software engineering, machine learning engineering, or artificial intelligence research.
Demonstrate high agency, exceptional drive, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations with minimal oversight.
Exhibit a strong passion for artificial intelligence, an interest in entrepreneurship, and a competitive nature with a history of proven success.
Possess strong leadership capabilities alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Maintain a bias toward action and thrive in high-impact settings while keeping strict attention to detail.
Demonstrate proficiency in Python and the ability to write production-quality code.

Nice to Have

Technical abilities involving coding, scripting, or data handling.
Experience utilizing artificial intelligence tools to build products, conduct research, or automate workflows.
Experience or familiarity working with Claude Code.
