Key Responsibilities

Take total ownership of the product platform, leading the design, delivery, and production reliability of backend APIs, data models, and services.
Make critical architectural and product judgment calls, balancing the need for scalability against the necessity of rapid learning and deployment.
Drive major initiatives end-to-end, steering projects seamlessly from initial technical design all the way through to launch.
Work across the full stack by stepping into frontend, mobile, and data tasks when needed, leveraging AI coding tools to bridge unfamiliar territories.
Establish engineering standards by elevating architectural practices, leading thorough code reviews, and mentoring fellow team members.
Spearhead projects such as developing new AI-forward personalized learning experiences and custom post-lesson activities.

Requirements

Bring a minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience alongside a proven history of guiding systems to production.
Possess robust backend capabilities covering API design, robust data modeling, and resilient production systems operating at scale.
Demonstrate an AI-first working style by routinely directing AI coding tools for implementation while focusing personal energy on review and decision-making.
Exercise strong technical judgment regarding architectural scalability versus speed of delivery.
Maintain a flexible approach to working outside of core comfort zones to ship product features without waiting for specialists.
Display a strong product mindset paired with clear communication skills capable of bridging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
