Baton Corporation is hiring a Staff Data Scientist for Growth and Marketing in New York to manage analytics frameworks and measure the impact of acquisition efforts. The position requires working in person within an intense, high-expectation environment where systems operate continuously under heavy load.

Key Responsibilities

Own the analytics framework for paid acquisition and marketing initiatives to guide budget deployment.
Formulate measurement models for customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, return on ad spend, and attribution efficiency.
Design and evaluate experiments across bidding, creative, audience, and channel strategies to boost user acquisition.
Build analytical models and pipelines to forecast downstream user value across different acquisition sources.
Collaborate with growth teams to translate complex data into actionable budget and campaign strategies.
Integrate advertising metrics with first-party product and on-chain data for a complete lifecycle view.
Develop automated reporting dashboards for real-time performance tracking.
Partner with engineering to improve marketing data infrastructure and tracking reliability.
Contribute broadly to data science tasks spanning product performance, user behavior, and competitive intelligence.

Requirements

Significant professional background in performance marketing or growth analytics within a scaled consumer technology company.
Proficiency in SQL alongside Python or R for handling complex datasets.
Direct familiarity with marketing measurement challenges such as attribution, selection bias, and incrementality.
Practical experience designing causal inference approaches, geo tests, holdouts, or A/B tests.
Strong comprehension of lifecycle metrics including retention, conversion, and payback periods.
Capability to construct lightweight data models and pipelines utilizing tools like BigQuery, dbt, and Dagster.
Competence in communicating complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders through visualization tools.

Nice to Have

Background managing large-scale paid budgets on platforms like Google, Meta, TikTok, or X.
Prior deployment of marketing mix modeling or multi-touch attribution frameworks.
Experience constructing user-quality, conversion, propensity, or lifetime value models.
Familiarity with customer data platforms, mobile attribution platforms, or advertising APIs.
Previous tenure in fintech, social platforms, gaming, marketplaces, or high-growth consumer companies.
Prior application of machine learning techniques toward user behavior and growth.
Exposure to blockchain, crypto, or on-chain data analysis.
Knowledge of visualization and modeling software such as Omni.
